Reasons Why Patients Love Acupuncture

Would you like to feel healthier, happier, and free from pain? That’s precisely what acupuncture can help with. Here’s a few reasons why so many patients love it:

  • A Different View on Healing: If you’ve been struggling with pain or ongoing health issues and feel like nothing is working, acupuncture can offer a fresh perspective. It looks at the body holistically, identifying how most things are connected, and then, through addressing the “root” cause, improvements are seen everywhere.

  • Backed by Research: Acupuncture isn’t just an ancient practice; it’s increasingly supported by modern science. The NHS and NICE guidelines recognise its effectiveness for musculoskeletal pain and headaches, and research shows it can improve fertility, reduce stress, and support a wide range of health concerns.

  • More Than Just Treatment, It’s Time for You: One of the things patients love most about acupuncture is the time and space it offers. Many patients describe it as “like therapy,” where they feel supported not just physically, but emotionally too. It’s a place to come back to, no matter what stage of life you’re in.

  • Calm Amidst the Chaos: Life is busy—balancing work, family, and daily pressures can leave you feeling constantly on the go. Acupuncture provides an hour or two to de-stress, recharge, and reset. Many patients say they leave feeling like a new person.

If you’re curious about acupuncture and how it could support your health, why not give it a try?

Most Common Reasons Why Patients Try Acupuncture

Josh likes to treat anyone and any condition from seasonal treatments to unraveling the deeply complex. However, these are the main things that he sees in the clinic:

  • As an athlete, Josh is passionate about supporting muscular pains or injuries. This includes:

    • Lower back pain

    • Upper back pain

    • Neck pain

    • Shoulder pain

    • Elbow Pain (Golfers Elbow and Tennis Elbow)

    • Hip pain

    • Sciatica

    • Arthritis

    • Joint Pain

    • Knee Pain

    Plus many other complaints.

  • Mental Health is seen a lot in the clinic regardless of whether it is the main complaint or as a secondary to an existing condition. Often we are looking at treating both the physical and mental at the same time.

    Main complaints include:

    • Stress

    • Anxiety

    • Depression

    • Grief

    • Trauma and PTSD

  • Acupuncture is incredible at supporting women throughout all stages of their journey. This involves the full spectrum:

    • Menstrual Complaints

    • Gynaecological Conditions

    • Fertility Support

    • Assisted Reproduction Therapies and IVF

    • Obstetrics (Supporting Throughout Pregnancies)

    • Postpartum

    • (Peri)Menopause

  • Acupuncture is incredibly versatile because of the way it approaches health differently. For example, Josh’s original interest stems from his own experience of suffering from Initiable Bowel Syndrome. As a result, he is always dedicated to helping people experiencing something similar.

However it can support a huge range of conditions from cancer support, the weird and the wonderful, and everything in between.

  • A cancer diagnosis brings physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges, and even surviving cancer introduces new hurdles. Acupuncture can provide much-needed support during chemotherapy, alleviating symptoms like fatigue and peripheral neuropathy. Beyond the physical, Josh’s treatments also offer a safe and compassionate space to navigate the spiritual and emotional aspects of this journey. Cancer survivorship is often overlooked, but Josh focuses on helping patients find a sense of purpose and clarity as they adapt to a new chapter in life.

“A few words to sum up Josh and his treatment? Thoughtful, patient, attentive, supportive and skilful.”
